Why did we start JTC Auctions?

Before I answer this questions, I need to give a little back story on how we have sold apparel for the past 20 years.  As you may already know from our previous blog posts and YouTube videos, JTC liquidates apparel and general merchandise for many different retailers. From large online retailers like Amazon to the worlds largest retailer. The apparel sold at these stores is a lot lower-end than the apparel we have on JTCAuctions. However, for the past 20+ years we have been selling apparel by the truckload only. When I say truckload, yes I am talking about the 53 foot Semitrailers (26 to 52 pallets per truckload). In the past, these apparel truckloads have sold anywhere from $30,000 to over $100,000 per truckload. The customers typically buying these apparel loads have discount stores, flea market vendors, or exporting the apparel in ocean containers. The price point on this clothing was more important to these customers than the brand names. As the years went on, we started sourcing from high-end retailers and more of the department stores. Selling the higher-end more boutique style apparel by the truckload is a lot different from selling truckloads of Amazon apparel. It is two different price points and a completely different customer. JTC has a long list of customers buying truckloads of apparel, but we wanted to start sourcing higher-end clothing brands. Like the brand names you see sold at Revolve, Neiman Marcus, or Von Maur. To do this we wanted to find a new customer base that is looking for those brand names over the cheap price point generic apparel.

JTC needed to start targeting the Poshmark small business owner, eBay seller, Mercari, and WhatNot Reseller. We found that these customers wanted to buy High-end Boutique Clothing by the box and JTCAuctions was started. Now, there are a lot of online wholesalers selling apparel by the box.  Most of these companies are only selling Mystery Boxes or they offer sample picture boxes but never show what is in each box.  There is nothing wrong with sourcing mystery boxes, but it is not for everyone.  Some people want to see what they are getting before buying, especially when buying from a new company. Offering manifested apparel boxes was important to us but it is very labor intensive to type out and create a manifest for each item in every box. We found that just taking pictures of the apparel as we are boxing it up can cut the costs down. Offering picture boxes is something we don’t see any wholesale liquidation company offering. Taking pictures of all the items in each box will allow more transparency on our website and give potential buyers a better idea what is in each box. Buyers can quickly scan the apparel for style, sizes, color, brand name…etc, and be able to decide what wholesale box is worth investing in.  Also, offering these picture boxes online will give buyers interested in mystery boxes a very good idea what they could expect to get in a random box (aka mystery box). If you really want to know what is in a mystery box, you should review about 20-25 pictures boxes in numerical order.  A full size pallet has about 20-25 boxes so review that many boxes should give you a good general idea what you could get in a mystery box from JTCAuctions.

If you are a small business owner looking to find a new source for brand name high end clothing from retail liquidations pallets check out www.JTCAuctions.com. It is more than just apparel auctions, we have buy it now listings, offer mystery boxes, and boxes of clothing with pictures of every item in each box.
